Chevra Kadisha is launching a new program to support mourners in our community. Chevra Kadisha's volunteer grief companions will help mourners feel supported by the community and stay connected to our congregation. We will reach out to newly bereaved congregants about possible options for companionship and support, including check-ins, accompaniment to services and synogague events at which the bereaved may feel held by our community. Volunteers can also provide information about professional grief counseling and support groups. Beth El's Chevra Kadisha will offer orientation & ongoing support to the volunteer companions.
