Celebrate Purim with Congregation Beth El
CELEBRATE PURIM WITH CONGREGATION BETH EL
Purim is about the play between what’s hidden and what is revealed, resilience and bravery in impossible circumstances and, above all, the simple release of joy and fun! Join us this year for feasting, hamantaschen and general merry-making!
We now find ourselves in the Jewish month of Adar - the Jewish month in which Purim falls. Within this month, our tradition teaches us, we increase joy! Join your Beth El community as we increase our light and our joy, with a fun-filled Purim!
Hear Ye, Hear Ye! The High Court of Shushan cordially invites you to Congregation Beth El’s Mishteh Purim, Feast of Purim! Join us for a night of Purim inspired libations and feasting as we creatively read from Megillat Esther through skit, song, poetry, and much, much more! Interested in reading from the Megillah, either in a creative way or in its traditional form? See more below! .Costumes are strongly encouraged!
Mishteh Purim - The Feast Of Purim and Megillah Reading!
Thursday, March 13th at Congregation Beth El
6:15-8:15: The Feast and Megillah Reading!
**This event is adult-oriented. Childcare is available for kids ages 3 and up. Childcare will include a pizza dinner and a movie!**
Calling all volunteers to participate in the Megillah reading at our Purim feast on Thursday, March 13, 6:15 pm - from chanting to bite-sized spiels - and everything in between!
Last year's Megillah readers truly rose to the occasion and knocked our collective socks off! This year we're looking forward to even more innovation!
Do you have an idea for a musical interpretation? Dance? Slam poetry? A visual art piece? Would you and members of one of your groups at Beth El like to get together and do an interpretive skit? New ideas to help us connect to a section of verses are welcome! And of course, readers and chanters of the Megillah text - in Hebrew, English, or any other language! - are always appreciated.
All who are interested in participating, either in person or on Zoom, please contact Judy Tate.
